Why does my Windows VPS keep shutting off automatically?

We’ve received many support tickets from users asking why their Windows Server VPS shuts down automatically. There are a couple of possible reasons for this:

  1. Resource usage – If your VPS is using too many resources, especially RAM, Windows may hang or crash, which can result in the server shutting down unexpectedly.
  2. Trial license limitations – The most common reason is that the Windows Server installation is running in trial mode. Since purchasing a license for every VPS would be extremely expensive, we provide the servers in trial mode by default.

The solution is to activate Windows with a valid license to take it out of trial mode. There are plenty of guides and tools available online Google and GitHub are your friend but please don’t install malware.
